Armenian American pop artist Emerson Azarian has officially made her mark with the release of her highly anticipated first full-length album “Hyperfixation,” a 13-track project dripping with Y2K nostalgia, addictive hooks, and genre-blending finesse. Heavily influenced by early 2000s pop music, the album weaves effortlessly through pop, R&B, hip-hop, and trap, serving up a cohesive yet dynamic listening experience.
“Hyperfixation” kicks off with the high-energy opener “Say It Louder,” a fast, catchy beat that grabs your attention and doesn’t let go. From there, the album slides into smooth, sensual R&B tracks like “That’s Just You” and “Undo Your Love,” showcasing Azarian’s vocal versatility and emotional depth.
The energy shifts with “Nature,” a grittier hip-hop cut that adds edge and swagger to the mix. The vibe then bounces back to groove-filled pop on “Too Little Too Late,” bringing a light, infectious rhythm that keeps the momentum going.
There are also previously released singles featured on the album, like “Plans Tonight,” a collaboration with fellow artist Britton Rauscher, which also marks Azarian’s first released duet.
Despite the variety of styles, “Hyperfixation” maintains a strong sense of cohesion. Azarian blends early 2000s influences with modern production in a way that feels both nostalgic and fresh.
A clear standout is “I Got It All,” built around a hypnotic hypersaw synth that loops into a repetitive, brain-washing hook. The sound recalls Tate McRae’s recent dive into 2000s-inspired pop—think Britney Spears or Pussycat Dolls, but with a sleek, contemporary spin. It’s catchy, confident, and made to be played on repeat.
Be sure to check out Azarian’s album. She’s definitely on the rise as pop’s next queen.
