Rita Ora is back with a new summer anthem, “Ask & You Shall Receive,” a track that promises to be the banger of the season. Co-written by British singer-songwriter Raye and produced by German (Oliver Peterhof), this song is a perfect blend of infectious beats and vibrant energy.
“The song is full of upbeat, summery vibes and is about seizing the moment romantically, and diving straight in with that special someone,” Rita explains. The collaboration with Raye adds a layer of nostalgia and excitement for Ora, who fondly recalls their time together during the Phoenix tour. “It was co-written by the amazing RAYE, which feels like such a full circle moment, as I have so many amazing memories from when we were on the road together for the Phoenix tour,” she says.
The accompanying music video, directed by Dano Cerny, known for his work with SIA, Labrinth, and Demi Lovato, takes the song’s energy to a visual level. Filmed in Los Angeles, the video is set in a seemingly ordinary yet nefarious 24-hour laundromat. Cerny draws inspiration from the iconic 1985 Levis 501 commercial starring Nick Kamen, creating a retro yet fresh atmosphere that perfectly complements the song’s carefree, summery vibe.
