Sabrina Carpenter is heating up the summer charts with her latest hit, “Espresso,” which has already climbed to #4 on the Hot 100 and topped the UK charts for weeks. But the rising pop star isn’t stopping there. Today, she released a new track that’s sure to get everyone talking: “Please Please Please.”
This new single is a collaboration with songwriter Amy Allen and features production by the acclaimed Jack Antonoff. Known for his work with Taylor Swift, Antonoff brings his signature synth pop style to “Please Please Please.” The song kicks off with a catchy, retro-style synth riff that plays throughout, creating a nostalgic yet modern sound.
While “Please Please Please” carries the same retro vibe as “Espresso,” it’s not quite as catchy. However, the music video is a must-see and adds a whole new dimension to the song.
Directed by Bardia Zeinali, the video starts with Carpenter in a holding cell, spotting her real-life boyfriend Barry Keoghan being taken into custody. The storyline follows Carpenter as she helps Keoghan with his mischief, including kidnapping and bank robbery. The cycle repeats with Keoghan’s arrests and Carpenter’s rescues, ultimately ending with her cuffing him to a chair and sealing his mouth with duct tape.
Despite not being as instantly addictive as “Espresso,” “Please Please Please” showcases Sabrina Carpenter’s versatility and creative evolution. It’s clear she’s not afraid to experiment and keep her fans excited for what’s next.
